Government For Kids

City Government Month takes place every April and students are recognized in May. The Friendship City Networking committee works with the schools throughout the school year with the goal of educating children about city government. Elementary age children are taught about individuals in city government and learn about fire safety. Older elementary age children write essays about city government and participate in D.A.R.E. Higher grade levels write ordinances or essays. The participants are recognized, receive certificates from the Mayor of Erlanger, receive Citations from Kentucky's House of Representatives, and the classes receive a pizza or ice cream party.
