Police K-9 Unit

The Erlanger Police K-9 Unit consists of one dual purpose K-9 Team and handler Officer Dave Lillich. The dog is trained on narcotics detection, suspect apprehension, suspect track, building search, article search, area search, and handler protection. Our K- 9 team is nationally certified through the North America Police Work Dog Association.

The K-9 Unit has recorded almost two thousand uses in the past five years. Along with responding to calls in Erlanger, the K-9 Team assists Federal, State and Local Law Enforcement Agencies as well. In 2009, the K-9 Team recorded three hundred thirteen (313) uses. The K-9 unit is a vital part of the Erlanger Police Patrol Division. Sgt. Mike Leming is currently the supervisor of the  K-9 Unit. He is responsible for training and all equipment needs.

Shown in the picture is Officer Dave Lillich and his K-9 partner Szalto, a German Shepherd from Holland, who was purchased and put into service in 2009.
