City Administrator


Under the administrative direction of the Mayor, the City Administrative Officer shall be responsible for the efficient administration of all the affairs of the City. The City Administrative Officer shall plan, direct, and coordinate, through appointed department heads, the various services and activities as determined by the Mayor and/or legislation adopted by City Council. The City Administrative Officer also serves as the City’s ABC Administrator.



  • Direct and supervise all Department Heads and employees in the efficient delivery of municipal services; establish and maintain an organizational structure of offices, departments, positions, and units within the City in the interest of efficient, effective and economical conduct of the City’s business.

  • Advise the executive authority in policy formulation of the city;

  • Have major responsibility for preparation and administration of operating and

capital improvement budgets under direction of the executive authority;

  • Recommends to the Mayor appointments of department heads and staffs as provided by state laws and /or local ordinances. Also advises in the appointment of subordinate administrative personnel.

  • Have continuing direct relationships with operating department heads on implementation and administration of programs.

  • Manages the day-to-day operations and internal affairs of the City of Erlanger.

  • Develops policies, procedures, and processes as needed to implement the decisions of the Mayor and City Council.

  • Liaison with other governmental and service agencies.

  • Assists in the preparation of the annual budget and capital improvement programs and submits estimates to authorized elected officials for approval.

  • Monitors overall fiscal activity of the city to assure compliance with established budget.

  • Other duties may be assigned.



B.S. Degree in Business, Public Administration or related field from an accredited college or university supplemented by three years of progressively responsible experience in management, or any combination of education, training, and experience which provides the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform effectively the duties of the position.
